    This HANDS ON role is primarily responsible for operationalizing the vision for data. In essence, managing data as an asset means improving links between silo-ed databases and data stores, making information/data easier to find on-line, making it easier for analysts and policy makers to quickly access and transform data into the new formats and knowledge and lowering the cost of consuming and using data because of having more data to manage.

    Role and Responsibilities:

    • Hands on role in creating reports and programming - SQL
    • Improve data quality and how we measure data quality
    • Works with the EVP and CFO to develop data management policies and practices to support the mission of the hospital system
    • Decreases the cost of collecting, managing, and sharing data while increasing the value of the data to the hospital system
    • Works with the DBA functionality of IT to insure adherence to data standards and speeding data linkages between systems
    • Oversees of enterprise entity repository, data catalog, and publishing primary identifiers
    • Overseeing the budget and mechanism for managing the data procurement and licensing
    • Provides expertise and consults on all new major data-related or data-intensive initiatives
    • Responsible for the design, architecture, development, delivery of data management solutions to support clinical data reporting and analysis initiatives
    • Supports clinical teams and management with insights, business intelligence, and performance metrics for effective decision making and process improvements
    • Develop system data management plans that will deliver accurate, timely, consistent, and quality clinical data. Develop routines, procedures, and applications to facilitate best practices for end-users of clinical data and analytics
    • Oversees selection, building, deployment, and implementation of a metrics dashboard and associated metrics tools
    • Identify relevant process improvement opportunities, including proactive prevention strategies based on metrics and forecasts
    • Review data acquisition conventions, data review guidelines, and statistical analysis plans
    • Ensure decision support staff are trained and adhere to project-specific, global, standardized data management processes

    Job Requirements

    Experience: 5 to7 years experience in managing complex data and data structures or equivalent combination of other relevant responsibilities and experience.

    While not required, experience in healthcare is a plus.

    Education: Master’s degree in Business, Statistics, Informatics, Healthcare  Management related field, required. 

    Special Skills:

    • Excellent and proven analytical skills and experience with statistical software (i.e., SAS, SPSS, MiniTab)
    • Evidence-based working knowledge of Data Warehouse software (i.e., Health Catalyst, Qlik, Tableau)
    • Working knowledge of MS SQL Server, MS Access, MS Report Writer, and SQL transactional query
    • Demonstrated advanced competency with MS Excel spreadsheets (i.e., pivot tables, Excel VBA programming)
    • Familiarity with and understanding of statistical risk modeling and predictive analytics in healthcare
    • Experience with healthcare industry benchmarking and developing metrics within a performance management framework; Familiarity with Meditech, Premier’s Quality Adviser and Crimson solutions is highly desirable
    • Experience presenting data and findings to executives and other leadership teams
    • Previous management experience of direct reports 
    • Strong facilitation and writing skills, and effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills 

    This is an interim role and expected to be 3 months in length.   All candidates must be willing to travel weekly on a Monday-Thursday basis.
